Taken from the Copaiba tree which grows in South America, it was used in many of the natives' health practices. Similar to Black Pepper or Clove oil, Copaiba has a high content of beta-Caryophyllene which has been studied for helping with pain management, anxious feelings, and general wellbeing. While Copaiba contains no psychoactive compounds in it, Caryophyllene may bind to the cannabinoid receptors in the body where many of its therapeutic effects may stem from. Try using it in blends for topical, internal, or aromatic use as it blends well and adds a host of benefits to any blend with a very mild and amber or honey-like smell.Â
