Growing up to 12 feet, the Bergamot plant grows a fruit that resembles a cross between a grapefruit and an orange with a more wrinkled shape. The fruit starts green then turns yellow as it ripens. About the size of a small orange, it is cultivated mainly in Italy.
As one of the main flavors in Earl Gray tea, Bergamot has a classic and loved flavor and smell. Used in the Mediterranean for its skin rejuvenating effects and its taste, Bergamot has a wonderfully calming and uplifting aroma.*
Bergamot has a very unique aroma when compared to other citrus essential oils. It is uplifting and calming at the same time in a different way than other oils. Along with mixing well with woody aromas, it brings a fun and distinctly sweet smell to any blend it is a part of!
As a cleanser Bergamot is gentle yet firm. It is a great addition to your body care routine. Add a drop to your body wash or use it in a foot soak to clean and renew! With so many beautiful and fun uses, Bergamot is a definite favorite of any oil user!
